Celebrating 30 years of primary healthcare in the Murrumbidgee

In 2023/24, Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) proudly celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of dedicated service to primary care providers and the community. The milestone event was held on Friday 17 May, and brought together stakeholders, current and past employees, board members, and friends for an evening of reflection and celebration. The gathering featured a panel discussion that provided a platform for sharing memories and discussing the organisation's journey. One of the highlights was Nancye Piercy's inspiring account of the fight to establish Murrumbidgee as the 31st PHN, a significant milestone that has had a lasting impact on healthcare delivery in the region.

During the event, attendees reminisced about the challenges and triumphs faced by MPHN, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The discussions underscored the organisation's resilience and commitment to overcoming obstacles in the pursuit of better health outcomes. Reflections on the culture and workforce challenges were also shared, offering valuable insights into the continuous evolution of the organisation. This celebration was not only a testament to MPHN's enduring legacy but also an opportunity to honour the contributions of individuals who have been instrumental in its success over the past 30 years.
