Suicide Prevention Regional Response Coordinator

Are you passionate about suicide prevention and making a real difference in your community? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Suicide Prevention Regional Response Coordinator to work part time up to 30 hours per week to support suicide prevention, aftercare, and postvention activities across the Murrumbidgee region.

Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) is a not-for-profit health care organisation based in Wagga Wagga, the largest inland city in rural New South Wales, and we are committed to enhancing the health and well-being of our communities and the region we support. We work in partnership with healthcare providers, including Allied Health, General Practice, Pharmacy, and Aged Care, to deliver innovative, evidence-based primary care solutions.

This impactful role is central to a collaborative, region-wide approach to suicide prevention, working alongside the Murrumbidgee Local Response Group, the Murrumbidgee Suicide Prevention and Aftercare Collaborative, the Murrumbidgee Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Alliance, and other key stakeholders.

You will be at the forefront of driving meaningful change by coordinating local efforts, fostering partnerships, and promoting community resilience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as the key support and coordination lead for the Murrumbidgee Local Response Group.

  • Support collaborative partnerships across health services, community groups & stakeholders.

  • Assist in rolling out vital suicide prevention training and events.

  • Ability to champion community engagement and capacity building initiatives.

  • Keep key players informed with reporting, updates, and locally relevant insights.

  • Attend regional and external meetings, events, and conferences, with occasional overnight travel.

What You Bring:

  • Strong knowledge of suicide prevention and/or mental health services.

  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and priority populations.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and community development skills.

  • A proactive, empathetic approach and a willingness to travel regionally.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strong IT skills.
