Continence training
Continence issues impact many demographic groups across the Murrumbidgee region.
To qualify for the Continence Aids Payment Scheme (CAPS), people must be diagnosed with permanent and severe incontinence, confirmed by a registered health professional (such as a general practitioner, continence nurse, registered nurse, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, Aboriginal health worker, or medical specialist).
Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) is inviting practice nurses and allied health providers working in primary care to participate in continence training.
The training involves completing the Continence Foundation of Australia’s online learning modules (a total of 20 modules). These modules cover assessment, management, and support required to assist people in the community with continence issues. Each module takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
In addition to the online learning, participants will be part of a Community of Practice led by experienced continence health professionals. Participation in this community is a requirement of the program.
MPHN has partnered with the Rural Doctors Network to provide scholarships to assist with training costs. Interested health professionals will be supported to apply for these scholarships.
Ideally, practitioners participating in the training will complete all the modules by 31 December 2024.
Please complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form by Wednesday 26 June 2024.
