Quality Improvement module
There is always room for improvement, and quality improvement activity supports the delivery of optimum primary healthcare. The ongoing assessment of practice structures, systems and data will ensure quality improvement activity is imbedded in every-day process.
General practice can achieve this by designating at least one team member with the responsibility for managing quality improvement activity. There must be clear guidelines on this role, ideally documenting accountabilities in the relevant position description.
This responsibility of quality improvement does not have to be shouldered by one staff member. Practices can develop a quality improvement team made up of both clinical and non-clinical staff.
