Dr Scholtz and Ms Howard were elected at MPHN’s November 19 Annual General Meeting, while Mr Gianniotis and Mr Pennock have been appointed to the Board. The recent AGM also saw Director Dr Faye McMillan retire from the Board after completing her three-year contract.

MPHN Board Chair Dr Jodi Culbert farewelled Dr McMillan and said she was looking forward to having the new Directors as part of the team.

“I congratulate our new Board Directors on their election and appointment, and I’d also like to thank our outgoing Director, Dr Faye McMillan, for her valued contribution over the past three years, in particular for her advocacy for improving health outcomes and closing the gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our region,” Dr Culbert said.

“Dr Scholtz is an experienced rural clinical living in Cootamundra with a special interest in ultrasonography and obstetrics. He is passionate about rural healthcare and the availability of training and progression for all medical staff.

“Christine is the Director of Charles Sturt University’s Three Rivers Department of Rural Health. She has diverse executive health management and leadership experience, having worked in rural health for more than 30 years.

“Paul is an experienced business professional who has brought extensive financial and business skills to the table as he served on the MPHN Board for the past 12 months. He is passionate about addressing the challenges faced in delivering effective integrated and innovative health care to our significant region.

“Rene is an experienced health sector consultant, who has worked extensively with allied health, nursing and medical professionals. He has previously served as the CEO of South Western Sydney Primary Health Network, and is committed to improving the health of the communities he serves.”

The new Board Directors commence their three-year terms immediately.
