Chatting about health: Wagga Wagga's Conversations on the Couch

Wagga Wagga residents are invited to participate in shaping the future of their community's health by attending Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN)’s upcoming Conversations on the Couch session.

The relaxed drop-in session will take place on Wednesday 12 June 2024, between 10am-12pm at the Wagga Wagga Civic Centre, 243 Baylis Street, Wagga Wagga.

MPHN’s Acting CEO Narelle Mills said Conversations on the Couch provides an excellent platform for residents and local health professionals to speak with MPHN staff regarding health matters in their community.

‘At Conversations on the Couch, there are no preset questions, we’re happy to hear all your thoughts on health in Wagga,’ Ms Mills said.

‘Whether you've noticed any emerging trends, have concerns, or want to highlight specific issues, we're eager to hear from you. We want to understand what the local health needs are, and believe local residents are best placed to identify gaps in the existing services.

‘While we gather insights from data about the health needs of the Murrumbidgee region, understanding local experiences is equally vital. Your feedback will help us identify any new or emerging issues we need to consider as we plan future services and initiatives for your region.’

Residents who are unable to attend Conversations on the Couch can still share their feedback via a quick community feedback survey at mphn.org.au/hna

Wagga Wagga Local Health Advisory Committee Chair George John said the initiative gives residents the ability to highlight community health concerns.

‘I encourage everyone to join Conversations on the Couch in Wagga and make a difference in your community's health landscape,’ Mr John said.

‘It is an excellent opportunity to have your say and influence positive change by sharing your experiences, as the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network is well-positioned to advocate on our behalf.’

Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) supports the local primary healthcare sector and improves health outcomes, particularly for at-risk populations.
