New era for mental health care in Wagga Wagga

Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network joined Senator Deborah O’Neill on 29 January to celebrate the official launch of two mental health community services.
The Medicare Mental Health Centre Wagga Wagga was officially opened at 235-241 Baylis Street, Wagga Wagga, providing free, walk-in mental health support and care for the local community, no Medicare card or referral needed. The centre is operated by Grand Pacific Health and commissioned by MPHN with Australian and New South Wales government funding.
We also celebrated the official opening of the new headspace Wagga Wagga centre at 141 Peter Street. headspace provides a safe and confidential environment for young people to access free services for mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs support, and work and study assistance.
