LHAC consultation work outcomes
MPHN’s Community Engagement Coordinator Tom Parker has undertaken consultation work on how MPHN can best support LHACs and MPHN LHAC representatives. The consultations have led to many changes and are a direct result of the feedback we heard from both LHAC Chairs and members, and MPHN employees. The changes are:
During consultation we heard that many MPHN staff rely on the LHAC Update emails to use during meetings. To help ensure those LHACs who have meetings at the start of the month are referencing a current LHAC Update, we will change from sending the LHAC Update emails from the start of each month to the last Monday of the month.
We have also reviewed the content provided in these LHACs and will ensure we provide updates on relevant staff changes, a list of health awareness days, grants and information about the LHAC sector teleconferences.
Some LHACs will have recently been informed of changes to your MPHN LHAC representative. This change will help ensure MPHN staff have a manageable number of LHACs to support and should be able to attend your meetings more regularly. Transition of representatives has commenced and should be fully in place by the November meetings.
MPHN LHAC reps will also be provided with an MPHN LHAC representative report for each meeting.
Some minor changes to the LHAC agenda will also be made to ensure the MPHN report is included and there are opportunities for LHACs to provide MPHN with feedback on any local primary health matters, or alert us to any issues.
Internally we are also making some changes to our systems and processes to track issues raising in meeting minutes so we can address these in a timely manner.
As always, we welcome your feedback on these changes and trust they will provide you with greater support. Thank you for all your time and contributions to the consultation work to improve MPHN’s support of LHACs.
