Bowel cancer on HealthPathways
HealthPathways is a free online clinical tool supporting Murrumbidgee clinicians in evaluating, managing, and referring patients to local services. It is specifically designed for use during consultations.
Colorectal Symptoms – Suspected Colorectal Cancer – This pathway is for symptomatic patients. Suspicion of colorectal cancer increases with the combination of increasing age, multiple signs or symptoms, and persistent colorectal symptoms for > 6 weeks.
Bowel Cancer Screening – This pathway is for asymptomatic patients requiring bowel screening. Early diagnosis and treatment of polyps or cancers is associated with excellent survival.
Bowel Cancer Follow-up – Follow-up surveillance aims to promote long-term survival with improved quality of life by early detection of local and recurrent disease.
