  • Carer Payment. Carer Payment is an income support payment paid to carers who personally provide care for an adult or child with a severe disability or severe medical condition and, because of the demands of their caring role, cannot work full time. Carer Payment is income and assets tested.

  • Carer Allowance. This payment is for you if the person you care for needs ongoing daily care for at least 12 months or has a terminal medical condition. Income tested.

  • Carer supplement. This is an annual payment of up to $600, paid automatically if you get:

    • Carer Allowance

    • Carer Payment

    • Department of Veterans’ Affairs Partner Service Pension and Carer Allowance

    • Department of Veterans’ Affairs Carer Service Pension.

  • Bereavement payment. There are different types of bereavement assistance depending on your situation and the situation of the person who died.

  • Child disability Assistance Payment. An annual payment if you get Carer Allowance when looking after a child with disability or medical condition.

  • Health Care Card

  • Transport and travel support (Mobility Allowance). A payment to help with travel costs for work, study or looking for work if you have a disability, illness or injury that means you can’t use public transport.
