Community groups encouraged to apply for grant to support health and wellbeing activities
Murrumbidgee region community groups and organisations are being encouraged to apply for a new Healthy Connections grant for local activities and initiatives that promote social connectedness and health and wellbeing activities within their local communities.
Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) is providing communities groups with an opportunity to apply for a grant of up to $10,000. Applications are now open and will close on Friday 20 May 2022.
Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network CEO Melissa Neal said the grants are available for grassroots community activities that aim to strengthen social connectedness and enhance physical and mental wellbeing.
“We recognise that many people have experienced challenges and feelings of disconnection over the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the aftermath of recent bushfires,” Ms Neal said.
“By offering these new grants MPHN is seeking to support local community projects and programs that will support wellbeing and being people together.’
The grants may be used to support a variety of activities including promotion of health checks and health screening activities and mental health events and workshops.
