Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network invites local government and community agencies to a one-day workshop presented by Red Cross on communicating in disaster recovery.
This professional development workshop is for anyone in the emergency management or community sector that manages information and/or communicates with members of the community during times when communities are under stress.
Using the best-practice Communicating in Recovery guide the workshop looks at communicating within a disaster context.
The workshop will explore communications strategies to help overcome the physical and psychological challenges affected communities may face during and after a disaster. The aim is to assist people to communicate more effectively, raise awareness of recovery communications and provide an opportunity for people working with communities and individuals affected by disasters to network and share ideas.
