Enhancing rural health practice and student learning experiences
This free face-to-face professional development for health professionals offers a morning and an afternoon session on the day and a networking lunch. You can attend one or both sessions.
Enhancing rural health practice (9am to 12pm)
This session will explore ways to enhance rural health practice by identifying and discussing interprofessional capabilities extending to discipline-specific clinical skills. The presenters will explore several essential pillars of rural health practice, including setting boundaries, self-care, responding to challenging conversations and contributing to an organisational culture of learning.
Networking lunch (12pm to 1pm)
Join us for a free networking lunch! The presenters will be available to answer questions and provide additional information on support provided by Three Rivers.
Rethinking student placements and supervision (1pm to 4pm)
This session will provide participants the opportunity to rethink their approaches to placements and supervision. New models of clinical placement will be explored, and mechanisms to enhance student learning experiences will be discussed. Participants will leave this session with new ideas about how they can foster success in workplace learning in busy clinical environments. RSVP by 11 July.
