Contraceptive Implant (Implanon) insertion and removal course
MPHN has engaged Family Planning NSW to deliver a contraceptive implant (Implanon) insertion and removal workshop to GPs and GP registrars in the Murrumbidgee. Participants will learn or refresh their knowledge about the contraceptive implant, Implanon NXT and the skills to safely insert and remove the device.

Pre-workshop activities: Completion of online learning (3-4 hours) is essential prior to undertaking the practice and assessment component of the course on 28 July 2021.

Supervised practise and assessment : Participants practise insertion and removal of Implanon NXT on a model arm under the supervision of a Family Planning NSW clinical facilitator in an interactive online setting, followed by a competency assessment.
