Optimising the management of Heart Failure

Join us for an intimate session with Cardiologist,  Dr Imran Kassam, a leading expert in the field of Heart Failure and Cardiac Electrophysiology as he shares insights, expertise, and practical tips to optimise the care of heart failure.

Dr Imran Kassam is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist, Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales, Visiting Medical Officer and Clinical Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University Hospital. Dr Kassam’s areas of practice include general cardiology and electrophysiology. He has expertise in device implantation (pacemakers, defibrillators), electrophysiological studies and ablative therapy. 

Dr Kassam’s presentation will include current recommendations in diagnostics, therapeutics, and the interventions available to improve the outcomes of heart failure patients. Also to go through current guidelines regarding the management of Heart Failure.

Megan Mulcahy will introduce you to Heart Plan in a Box, a quality improvement toolkit for heart failure management in primary care.

This toolkit is intended to support Quality Improvement (QI) activities using Plan Do See Act (PDSA) cycles to achieve improvements in the care and management of heart failure patients in primary care.
